I offer a range of Open Water Coaching Services for JUNIORS OR ADULTS

You may want to have a gentle introduction to open water/ cold water swimming, learn front crawl or you might be looking to sign your child up for a course of lessons to help improve their confidence in the water.

For JUNIORS I have structured groups by age and for ADULTS by ability and goal.

Private sessions are available and can be tailored to suit yours or your child’s needs and goals.

For all non swimmers or those with a debilitating fear or water my suggestion is to start in the pool and progress to the open water.

Please NOTE junior open water swimming groups finish at the end of September and restart in June

Adult Courses

Level 1
Open/Cold Water
Introduction

These sessions are aimed at novice/completely new open water swimmers/dippers

I will guide you through the practical knowledge you will need to safely swim in the sea

Sessions consist of:

  • 10 minute pre-swim chat/risk assessment
  • Wonderful swim with basic coaching 
  • Hot drink and chat after

Level 2
Learn Frontcrawl

These sessions are for those who have completed Level 1 or that can confidently swim breaststroke in the sea but would like to progress to frontcrawl

I  will help you with:

  • Breath control
  • Body position
  • Timing
  • Stoke efficiency

Level 3
Endurance & Fine Tuning

Want to be faster & more efficient but don’t know what your doing wrong? Or looking for some technical help?

These sessions aim to get you swimming over longer distances with pacing help and technique tuning. 

Using video footage and real time correction I can give you techniques and tips to help you to improve the effectiveness of your stroke and stamina.

Water Confidence

Age group 6+ yrs

Children must be able to:

  • Blow bubbles
  • Put face in

These groups sessions are for children 6+ who love the water but are not swimming 25m just yet or  those that are under 8 years old. Children will learn through games, activities & experience

The focus of these sessions is on:

  • Fun
  • Safety
  • Confidence

Junior
Level 1

Age group 8-9 yrs

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 50m confidently with face in the water either front crawl or breaststroke
  • Tread water for 30 seconds

 In these sessions children will learn about:

  • Tides & Currents
  • Water Safety
  • Acclimatizing
  • Swimming Technique
  • Navigating waves

Junior
Level 2

Age group 10-11 yrs

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 200m frontcrawl confidently
  • Tread water for 1 min
  • Float on their back

In these sessions children will learn about:

  • Tides & Currents
  • Water Safety
  • Acclimatizing
  • Swimming Technique
  • Open water and triathlon Race techniques
  • Navigating waves

Junior
Level 3

Age Group 12-14 yrs

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 400m+
  • Tread water for 3 mins
  • Float on their back

In these sessions children will learn about:

  • Tides & Currents
  • Water Safety
  • Acclimatizing
  • Swimming Technique
  • Open water and triathlon Race techniques
  • Navigating waves

Junior
Level 4

Age Group 13+ yrs

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 1000m +
  • Have open water swimming experience

In these sessions children will learn about:

  • Tides & Currents
  • Water Safety
  • Acclimatizing
  • Advanced Swimming Technique
  • Advanced Open Water and Triathlon Race techniques
  • Navigating waves

Fit Fish

3-hour junior beach sessions.

Green Squad

Age group 8-10 yrs

3-hour session incorporating:

  • Sea swimming
  • Land and water fitness
  • Water safety
  • Lifeguard skills
  • First aid skills

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 50m confidently with face in the water
  • Tread water for 30 seconds
  • Float on their back

Children will have 2 x 15 min breaks for a snack and a drink.

They must have a long wetsuit, a swim hat, a beach hat, sun cream, a towel, a change of clothes, goggles and beach shoes, water, 2 light snacks.

Blue Squad

Age group 11-15 yrs

3-hour session incorporating:

  • Sea swimming
  • Land and water fitness
  • Water safety
  • Lifeguard skills
  • First aid skills

Children must be able to:

  • Swim 200m confidently 
  • Tread water for 2 minutes

Children will have 2 x 15 min breaks for a snack and a drink.

They must have a long wetsuit, a swim hat, a beach hat, sun cream, a towel, a change of clothes, goggles and beach shoes, water, 2 light snacks.
